By contrast, the official online purchasing service currently keeps the existing prices: ¥50,000, ¥80,000 and ¥100,000 for adult Ordinary Car passes of 7, 14 and 21 days. The JR Group says this online price freeze is temporary and that it will announce when it ends.

- Check how you plan to buy the pass. The October change applies to purchases through overseas JR-designated agencies, not the official online purchasing service for now.
- If using an overseas agency, pay attention to the purchase date. Purchases made by September 30 use the current agency prices; purchases from October 1 use the revised prices.
